Hello All, Tanoocas has generously accepted our invitation to become a Moderator on the Shar-Pei Forums. This is one small way to recognize her contributions to The Shar-Pei Forums. She has provided much help and support to other Members, and she is a recognized and valued part of our online community. Becoming a Moderator is a formal recognition of her well-deserved status on The Shar-Pei Forums. What are Moderators? Moderators are individuals (or groups of individuals) who look after the forums from day to day. They have the authority to edit or delete posts and lock, unlock, move, delete and split topics in the forum they moderate. Generally, moderators are present to prevent users from going off-topic or posting abusive or offensive material. Beyond that, a Moderator does pretty much what all Members do, posting and replying to topics. But most importantly, a Moderator is a facilitator, helping to keep our online community on track: - Helping new Members feel welcome
- Encouraging discussion by posting interesting new topics for others to respond to and by replying to topics
- Providing assistance and information on how to make better use of Forum tools and information resources
- Editing posts to help new Members fix problems like broken links, picture posting errors, etc.
- Ensuring that Members treat each other with equality, politeness and respect in keeping with the spirit of our Forum's Acceptable Use Policy.
- Offer suggestions and input on how to make the Forums a better community for all.
