I am in a spanish class right now. Can someone help me understand how to type the Present Inticative of the verb in parenthesis. Follow the subject to type the verb ending.

¿(Necesitar) ___________ Ud. un bolígrafo?

I answer necesito but found out it was (Necesita) .... I am lost and failed this test because I could not understand why I was using an a instead of o.

Necesito means (I need) i.e, Yo necesito un boligrafo ( I need a pen)
Necesita means (Do you need) Necesita usted un boligrafo? (Do you need a pen?)

Thank you! I have been having an issue with this class, because the professor is not listing why we are changing the words over. He will list a phrase and how to say the phrase. Besides that you are on your own. The class is online college course. I think my next language class will be at the college.

I am trying to remember things from my high school class from 17 years ago. Somethings stuck, but others I do not remember. This spanish book is no help either. It does not list why I am doing things. It is basically a book that ask you to translate a paragraph.

I think on my next test I am going to take my laptop to the Mexican restaurant by my house and ask them to help me take the test.
