NOTE: DO NOT BUY THE NATURES VARIETY RABBIT FORMULA!!!

The rabbits are purchased from China, which doesnt have any codes about hwo the animals are kept or the conditions the rabbits and meat are kept in. All other meats are fine (Duck coming out soon), just stay away from Nature Vareity Rabbit anything.

yea i know they are from china.. which is not cool. (but thanks for letting me know ;) )

the rabbit i'm talking about is Bold Raw; a local raw food company; rabbits are local raised in my area...i can also buy them whole frozen from them :)

my plan is to get her used to raw; and then switch over to mainly bold raw; however they don't do duck, just chicken, turkey, beef and rabbit; all local stuff. it's probably more cost effective to make my own and freeze portions, which in the end i want to end up doing soon. once i learn more, etc ;)

p.s

i feel kind of funny. because... i have a rabbit that was a rescue from a raided meat farm in ontario several years ago; poor conditions; he's domestic and trained. yet i'm talking about feeding my dog rabbit..... guilty :( lol they get along well...

Update on Kahlua!

Well; her diet is going really well. I've been able to integrate other meats into the diet, today we just introduced duck. I was able to sneak in a bit of bison that I've bought with beef, however the ratio of beef (to the bison) needs to be high or she won't touch it lol.

She loves the green tripe. (my gosh does it reek!! *gag*) lol.

Her skin and coat are looking much better, her "orange/red" colouring is coming back compared to her dull fawn colour she had before. She still is itching and chewing on her one foot; but I am now very sure it's seasonal/environmental allergies. her breath was never too bad; but i have noticed her "morning" breath to be much better.

What I like is that she doesn't poo every 4 hours! (She was a poop machine on grain-free kibble) Her bowel movements are very firm, and smaller.

Her CM bubbles are still there, but I imagine it will take much longer to have those lessen...

Overall, so far a + for the raw diet ;) It's only been a couple weeks, so I'm sure I will see even more improvements in the future.

She's only vomited once (due to playing after eating I believe), no diarrhea so far. Her nose is running more than usual but I hear that is common when dogs detox from the kibble on to raw??

that is terrific news. No sure about the nose running. One of the other members who have raw experience will come along.
