Hi Everyone,

I was just wondering what was the ideal weight for a 7 month old shar pei?
Also we do they stop growing?

Thanks
Hanna

It can vary....different lines develop at slightly different rates and to different sizes. By 7-9 months they have most of their height and weight but may grow a bit taller between that and 12 months and continue to fill out over the next year or two. As far as size, it varies per line and individuals...usually the best indicators of size potential is to look at the parents. I have had some as small as 33 lbs and some over 70 lbs....my line tends to be on the larger side.

:)

Yea, Bubba is almost a miniature! Yet her parents are between 45 (mama pei) 60 (papa pei). Bubba weighs in just under 30 right now, she is 6 1/2 months old, and I think she is going to hit maybe the 40 mark if I'm lucky! :)

My boy is 21 weeks old today and weighs 36lbs. My last boy never got above 40lbs. All depends on the dog (much like humans).

most of mine weighed in the 40 lb range at 6-7 months old. most of my dogs end up in the 45-50 lb range as adults.
