Soooo, my husband is away for a week, and I'm in charge of Chu & Ling...(oh boy). I have a very busy week at work, so I take Ling to doggy daycare so she can get her socialization started. The first day she was terrified when I dropped her off. I felt like I was leaving a child. The owner of the doggy daycare was holding her and if a dog could cry - I think she was getting ready to cry. Broke my heart to leave her (I know, I love them like they are our children).

We have a really good week - then the snow storm hits us this past Friday. We got about 24 inches of snow and the wind was wicked. Little Ling was jumping through the snow drifts to do her potty. Chu would run out, do his thing and run back. Ling was more adventurous until the snow was greater than she was.

I make myself a simple dinner of a hot dog and steak fries. I get my plate and decide since my husband isn't home I'll eat in the family room. Seemed silly for me to sit at dining room table alone. I get to family room and sit down on the plushy sofa - and before I know it, Ling jumps up, paws on my plate, and everything goes to the floor. Ketchup is everwhere (my carpet looked like a crime scene)!!! I screamed at Ling and told her that she was a bad puppy. She tried to get on my feet (where ketchup was) and I pushed her away. She got so upset. She ran behind the sofa and wouldn't come out until I called her. Is this typical?? I couldn't believe how upset she got.

Then........my husband and I were talking last night before going to bed and a little argument broke out. Well, from the bottom of the bed, Ling ran to me and got on top of my head. She was litterally laying on my head. What does this behavior mean???? Any ideas?

I agree with LuLu. Pei are very sensitive. MeiLi gets very upset if you holler at her. None of my Pei like loud talking or arguments.

Booboo isn't sensitive anymore, but before she was 6 months, she had some similar behaviors. If I yelled at her, she would go to a corner and lay with her back to me. She cried a high pitched whine, and could spend a half hour there ignoring me. If I spoke softly to her or cuddled on her, she also ignored me.

Peis are capable of child-like emotion I've never seen in other dogs :)

DEE is extremly sensitive we don't raise voices at all, and she takes everything in we are convinced she is like a 5 yr old child.
she has been such a good service dog because she is so sensitive.IF YOU SIT DOWN AND cry she is gonna be there either for soothing or drying your tears.

If I were to guess she was trying to calm you!
