This is her first fever of 105.1 waking up with it this morning. She is slow moving, but tail is up, hocks don't seem to be tender or swollen. She has eaten a little. I have given 2 baby aspirin, 2 HyV and arcnita montana. She seems very calm and not willing to move. She is not showing all signs of FSF, but treating as it is. I am just not sure the the right aspirin dose and how often. I will take temp in about 45 minutes again.

My Chloe, who is 4, started with fevers las summer, and I put here right on HYVitaliy and she hasn't had one since. I have sarted Phiona one this supplement this morning! Is there anything else I shoud be doing? I have an ice pack in groin area.

Thanks for any help.

You might want to repost this in the Health section.

Poor thing. 105 is high. Are you able to get her to drink cold water? I find that when Buster fevers it helps tremendously. I purchased a plastic syringe from Petco for about $3.

Try putting rubbing alcohol on some cotton balls and then apply to her paw pads. A cool facecloth to wipe under her chin (I'm sure her mouth is very hot) and applied to her head

How much does she weigh? You can give aspirin every 6 hrs. When did you give her the aspirin and what is her temp right now? Has she shown any other symptoms of being sick?

My Buster fevers and he does not get swollen hocks and only twice has he had exhibited a roached back

arcnita montana
Is this homeopathic for pain?

Here is some information/protocol for treating fevers from Dr Vidt

You can give one[1] 325-350-mg of aspirin..If there baby aspirin I give four...[81mg each}
every 6-8 hours
I rather put luke warm towels on the arm pits belly area..Ice cold can cause shock..

If you can not get the fever down or if it gets higher you will need a vet help asap.

Did your pei have any vaccinations in the last couple of weeks such as lepto?
All pei do not have a lot of symptoms some just have 2..FSF is determined by two or more feavers with no other explanations of illness.

Her fever is down to 102.6. She is 55 pounds. Still not herself. I had back surgery three weeks ago and have this awesome ice pack my husband got me at Rite Aid. I covered it with a towel and had it in her groin area. She is so good just laying there and letting me do what ever! Doesn't like to have temp taken though! Not many do. That is such a good idea about the alcohol, have to try that. I have given her 4 baby aspirin in all. Yes, the Arnica Montana is homeopathic. Helps with mucle aches and pain.

I do have syringes for liquid. Boiling up some chicken and making broth, she loves that.

Thanks for the info. I am so glad her temp is down!

She has not had any vac lately. I am going to check her urine gravity in morning as I have a refractometer. With 6 pei I find it handy. I have been so lucky, (knock on wood) with fevers, haven't had many. I really swear by that HyV, so much I did a testimonial for Dr. T on her website! Check it out and see my crew!

Just went in the other room and Phee is chowing down! Oh I hope this is the end of it! I will just watch all day and make sure it doesn't spike again!

THANKS EVERYONE!

dipyrone injections are good to have on hand for fevers as well as IV bags LR given sub-q, it helps to lower their temps. i'm glad her temp is down now, i hope she does not have any more fevers.
