Hi all from Spain. Baggy went to vet last night for microchip and 1st rabies jab. 12 weeks old now and weighs 10 kg. Vet said he needs surgery on both eyes within the next 2 weeks. She said he would need to wear a cone for 10 days or so. Baggys eyes seem ok to me, a bit teary in the mornings but otherwise no problems. I am just suspicious that the vet can see some quick money to be made. I dont want to put him through the trauma if its not required.
As far as the bowing leg problem, it comes and goes every 2 days in one front leg, so much better than it was....... I would welcome any comments. :)

Is he rubbing his eyes..You can do tacking if they are really bothering him..But NOT entropian surgery..Tacking is just a couple stitches to hold the lids[skin above lids] up so they do not rub on eye..There is NO cutting with tacking

Thanks for reply. No he is not rubbing his eyes at all. Vet says that the eyes look inflamed inside. I'm sure mine do aswell if you pull my eyes wide apart! Like I said, a bit teary in the morning and some gunk that I wipe with a tissue but the rest of the day they are ok.

You can read a lot on here about eyes - We generally Tack which like explained is just a stitch or 2. until they are 1 year old - the earliest is 7 months if you have a really bad problem. You are right your vet is trying to rip you off . At this age he cannot determine how much your pup will grow, therefore your pup will require more eye surgery! You can use an eye salve several times a day in the interim to prevent any rubbing. If you are familiar in america it's a neosporin type salve (plain no pain relief) It will help protect the eye - Your vet should give you some tubes.
