My near and dear friend died on Thursday. My friend Jay was 43 years old.
He had complications from spinal meningitis.

I am not much of a crier. I keep crying and crying.
It was so sudden and his wife is so very very devastated.
We just spoke about his two beautiful pitbulls and finding them a new home.
We met because of our dogs. We both love training and working with rescues.
We spent most of our time outside together working the dogs and talking for hours.
Luckily my hub and his wife were happy we found each other because we each
drove our spouses a little batty with our love of dogs.

She is going to place his dogs with her brother for now because its best.
She can't take them to her new apartment.

Our lives are forever changed without him. There is a gaping hole.
He played electric guitar, bass, keyboards, he trained dogs and
was a native american like me. He was funny and stoic.

So if my posts are weird, I apologize up front. Its gonna take me
awhile to find my center again.

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your very good friend. Such a shame to die so young with so much life left to live. May he rest in peace. It's a real shame his wife has to give up the dogs. They could have given her so much comfort at this time of need.

Please accept my condolences.

I pulled my crap together. Crying gives me a headache. Thank you so much for listening.
Jay's wife wants to keep the dogs. But she has to move because their house went into foreclosure
after he was hospitalized with the menigitis and then had to go to physical therapy. He just started
working again and then he died. I literally offered to pack the pits into our house just because we
don't want the dogs to go to just any home. Then her brother stepped up. His situation is ideal.
Jay has two beautiful APBT (one is a champion in pull) and they have never been apart. Her brother
can keep them both. Now we just have to get her through the services and get her and the kids settled in her new place.
Now i understand why I lost my job. The universe has got my priorities all figured out for me. Smiling sideways.

So very sorry for your loss...It sounds like Jay was an amazing person who will be greatly missed.

We really shouldn't take a single day for granted.

I will say a prayer for his family...
