We have had the pleasure of adding Kaïa (formerly known as Serenity and Namaste's Pumpkin) to our family. She is a doll! I am in love and completely gaga over her. I flew to Spokane where Jan met me with Pumpkin. We flew back right away to TX and these are pictures (the ones I could catch as everyone was moving all the time!) of her exploring her new home and meeting her new family.

I am going to try and post them in order.

I want to add her to my avatar but I not only couldn't remember how I joined two photos, I deleted the one I had. pffft! I am going home to see if I can't take one with the three of them in it. How likely is that? Not very! LOL Even if I do get them in the same frame, they most probably will be moving and I will end up with blur. Also, Pei-le and Cosmo look like giants next to petite Kaïa (although she looks delicate, she weighs a TON!) I am using the carry case as much as I can while she still fits. I took her to the supermarket on my way home from work. I never had a pei come shopping with me. It was fun!

I saw some kids and went over to them and asked "would you like to see my puppy and give her a treat?" I didn't realize until later that I sounded like a child molester! The mother gave me the dirtiest look until I explained. They did give her a treat and I had a good laugh after.

So congratulations on the little cutie girl you just brought home the other day. Soon I will have her little brother, yipee. I have to learn how to download pics so i can put them on here to. I know someone will walk me thru it. Jan wants to see many pics. Wow, u have a name already picked out. I still have to decide on one, i guess when he is in the house for a while will see what we come up with for him. At least she has a couple of Pei's to be with, im worried that little Alex don't have no one and he might be lonely. I hope not. She is so pretty.

I had a list of possible names, Debbie, but nothing picked out. I sent them around to friends and family via email and people wrote what they liked and didn't like. We were left with about four or five. Kaïa just seemed to fit, pleased everyone, and she responded to it.

Cosmo has been stand offish but each day he is a bit less so. I took them for their night walk about an hour ago but this time I brought the pup with us. She was in her travel case ( gotta amortize that case as she won't fit in it for very long!) on my shoulder for the whole walk. Her head poking out and resting on the edge, alert and sniffing and enjoying the ride. Oh my poor shoulders! Anyway about 1/2 block from the house I put down the case and let her walk the rest ofnthe way. Itnwas really interesting to watch the dogs interaction. Theynwatched her for a moment, sniffed her hind end and just continued on but very aware of Kaïa. When we got in, I wiped off everyone's paws.even at 10 pm, it is hot and everyone gets tired easily. I sat on couch with the pup in my lap and Cosmo for the first time in 3 days, climbed up as well. The pup wiggled off my lap to snuggle up to Cosmo. Just 30 min. earlier, pre walk, he would have gotten down and gone to lay elsewhere. He didn't even move. And I didn't have any more battery in my camera! :| :x

Oh, if you look at the pictures, you will see a wine colored rug. Well we used to have a low really large beautiful round glass table there. It was over two inches thick and super heavy. Well Cosmo liked to run around the base under the table for his zoomies. When he was a pup, he could do it easily. As he grew he had to bend his knees. It was really funny to see him do this. When pei-le came she would chase him around under the table. I was in the other room one day and heard a crash. Yup, the pei lifted the table top. I think they must have stood up at the same time. I mean I couldn't lift half of the table top after it broke, they are super strong these dogs. It could have been a disaster but no one was hurt, I was home and took out the glass pieces. I could barely drag the pieces on a blanket to the garage. The glass top broke when it hit the tile floor. We aren't putting one back. :? It is now the official pei wrestling rink.

Jan! You are so bad! I took a few more pics, but as usual, I didn't often have the camera with me. Kaïa is very comfortable. She had a case of the zoomies tonight and it was absolutely adorable! Pei-le was the center while Kaïa tore around her. She wanted to play but couldn't quite figure out how to with the zooming puppy. Then would flop down in one of the donut beds and pei-le would play bow and bark. All of this was supervised by Cosmo from his perch on the couch. I will post them later tonight.
She has captured the heart of all and sundry. I went to the library to pick up some books and a gaggle of librarians went gaga over the pup. I wasn't sure that they were going to let me leave with her!

Here a some new pics of Kaïa. I did finally figure out why I had so many blurry pictures. Look at this. It really isn't my fault now is it? The small fry loves to pull on the wrist strap!
Image

Such a lady at mealtimes and what lovely manners!

Quick! While no one's looking!! Let's check out the new pei's diggs!

Really Pei-le. You are sooooo undignified.

Oh man, I am all twisted around her little toe! :D I got it BAD. Ok, I have to share this. My husband says that I always say this but no! (ok, maybe, but I really mean it!) Kaïa is the SMARTEST pup I have ever seen. Really! We have a dog door. Kaïa hasn't used it or even been shown the door. The big dogs use it of course but we have been going out the back door. When she needs to go outside she goes to the backdoor. It took all of 2 seconds for her to figure that out. Tonight we saw her from the inside poke her head at the magnetic flap. Poke poke test test and eureka! out she went. She turned around and did it from the other direction. Poke poke test test and bam! She did that 3 times to make sure that it worked. Of course now I have to put the lock on it when she is running about because I don't want her in the back yard without supervision. But isn't she the little genius? Didn't know Jan bred wonder pups, did ya?
